About: Misael Ochoa

Misael Ochoa is the very first direct Honduran relationship we ever made in the history of Bevel. We were introduced to Misael’s honey processed Parainema in Winter of 2022, when received samples from our friends Benjamin Paz and Kevin Bohlin through their work together with the Bonaventure Project. At that time, we had never even dreamed of buying a producer’s entire lot of coffee, since we were still in the early stages of the company. In a total leap of faith, we said yes to our first microlot purchase of 4 bags of this incredible coffee and received it by Spring of 2023. And, we’re so glad we did. Misael’s farm: Mis Peñitas, sits high above Santa Barbara mountain at 1580 MASL and boasts an incredible microclimate thanks to the altitude, it’s location nestled in a valley between the mountains, and an impressive forest that provides ample shade so that coffee cherries can mature slowly and produce some of the most incredibly fruit-forward, and bright coffees we have on our menu. Additionally, as a Honduran-owned company, this relationship was incredibly special to us and we’re always excited to taste Misael’s latest harvest and bring it into our cafes year after year.
